CanWest's Ten Sale Erases $1.2B in Debt

Canwest Global Communications Corp. has taken another step in getting its financial house in order with the sale of its majority stake in Australian broadcaster Ten Network Holdings Ltd. The proceeds of the sale topped $634-million and will primarily be used to repay creditors of its broadcasting subsidiary, Canwest Media Inc. (CMI).
