Affluent Viewers Love TV, Ads Reach Key Demo

Even with all the media options and wired, frenetic lifestyles, affluent adults are watching the same amount of TV as they did a year ago, according to a new report. Research shows that individuals in homes with incomes of $100,000-plus watch an average of 17.6 hours a week this year, tied with 2009.

BCE, CTV Tell MPs Good Deal for Canadian Content

While regulators have not yet approved BCE's purchase of CTV, both told a House of Commons committee on Thursday that their union is crucial. The companies say that without working together, neither can compete against a rapidly growing influx of online video content from unregulated companies like Netflix and Apple TV.

Game On: Nat Geo Wants DVR 'Justice'

FCC Begins Plan to Take Back TV Spectrum

Next Tuesday, Nov. 30, the FCC will launch its rulemaking aimed at freeing up broadcast spectrum through repacking of the band and channel sharing. It will look for ways to improve the VHF band, suggesting that the FCC intends to drive more stations into the band as part of the repacking scheme.
